Pedigree Analysis for Slater's Slick Sydney # 33600M-63
Slater's Slick Sydney is a dog that is the result of an out crossed breeding. In looking at each grandparent and researching back into their 7 generation pedigree's you can see similar backgrounds, but the dogs up close are not related.
Cox' Cody, the Sire to Slick Sydney is the result of a very loose line breeding. He has a great grandsire, McDowell's Panda Bear who is a full brother to a great GrandDam, McDowell's Candy Girl. We also see a half brother to a half sisiter breeding (line breeding) to produce Cody's grand-dam, Salter's Little Twister. Line Breeding is a breeding style that is used by breeders to concentrate the positive traits of a prominent bloodline into the resulting offspring while at the same time, retaining the variability in the gene pool. Variability is good as it counteracts the potential detrimental effects of doubling up on bad genes that is sometimes seen as a consequence of inbreeding. The Prominent bloodlines in the pedigree of Cox' Cody is Cummings' who based his bloodline on the Boudreaux kennel from Louisiana, Hemphill and Wilder - both of these breeders bred dogs that are regarded as the Old Family Red Nose Strain, Colby, Neblett, Todor and Loposay. We also see one dog from the Watchdog kennels in the fourth generation of Cody's pedigree. Watchdog is the kennel of the family's last name as a part of the dog's registered name. They are synonymous.
Walter's Roxy, the Dam to Slick Sydney is an out crossed bitch from two dogs that are both line bred using half brother to half sister style of breeding. This is a favorite style of many prominent breeders. They select dogs with an outstanding sire in common, but out of different dams, in order to concentrate the genes of this outstanding sire into the resulting litter. Roxy's sire is line bred off of Davis' Double Trouble, a stud from Ch Ronald. This dog is the result of a tight line bred Indian Bolio breeding from the kennel of Boyles and Pat Patrick in fluked with a line bred Bullyson, Clemmons breeding. Bullyson and Clemmons are both based on the Boudreaux kennel that fits nicely with the sire's half of Sydney's Pedigree. Roxy's dam, silver's Little Bitch, is the result from a half brother to half sisterbreeding from the sire Lilly's Kahuna Moon. The background of this dog can be traced to the Cummings line that we see in the Sire's side of Sydney's pedigree. Other prominent bloodlines in the pedigree of Silver's Little Bitch are Ch Jeep, Woods, Carvers's, Holcomb and Old Fami8ly Red Nose line in the dog ONello's Piranha Red.
